What role will improved writing play in your life as an artist? Why write? If you’re an artist, what good will writing an essay do for you?

I think that writing has a lot to do with the success of an artist. For instance if you are a fashion designer and you come out with a beautiful line, but you are not able to articulate your thoughts behind the collection, it will not hold as much power as someone who has a beautiful story to tell that correlates with the beautiful collection. writing has a lot to do with how you present yourself as an artist, it is another way to express your artistic views. Mastering writing definitely boosts your chances of success as an artist as well as expresses a part of your artistic thoughts that cannot be said with just your art. I also think that writing will be especially helpful for me because with costume design you are illustrating a story with the clothes and I believe that I need to be able to know exactly how a story is put together in order to understand and illustrate someone it.
